GORGON LNG PLANT - Site Preparation & Temporary Facility - BARROW ISLAND, WA

  MOF Crane Crew – Gorgon

Gorgon is a story of energy and the environment as well as technology and expertise.

It is one of the world’s largest natural gas projects and the largest single resource natural gas project in Australia's history.

Gorgon is Australia’s largest resources project with an estimated cost of $43 billion. Approximately 40 trillion cubic feet of natural gas will be extracted from the Gorgon and Janz gas fields and transported to Barrow Island for processing at the LNG Plant. The LNG Plant will consist of three LNG Trains with a capacity of 15 million tonnes per annum and a domestic gas plant able to produce 300 terra joules per day. The processed gas will then be exported to international markets via designated tankers or sent to mainland Western Australia via an undersea pipeline for incorporation into domestic gas supplies.

Commencing in February 2010, working for Thiess, Pinjarra Crane and Access Hire began the construction of the Material Off-loading Facility (MOF), consisting of: causeway and breakwater construction and the installation of transportable buildings.
